Are You Ready to Catch Some Stripers!?
We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd annual Biotech and Bass Fishing Tournament to be held Friday, June 20. We hope you will join us and your industry peers for an exciting day on the water on the first day of summer!
Last year’s tournament quickly hit capacity, so we’re kicking things up a gear and chartering a larger fleet of 30+ foot boats that can accommodate up to 5 anglers each (complete with heads (i.e., bathrooms)). Local captains will launch their boats from Fan Pier Marina in Boston’s Seaport and head into the harbor and beyond, where participants will fish for striped bass and other species.
Unwind after the tournament with your fellow anglers and boat captains with lunch and drinks served at The Barking Crab. We’ll also announce tournament prize winners at that time.
If you are interested in fly fishing, instead of fishing with spinning rods, please let us know on the registration form, as we can accommodate a small number of fly fishermen.
Registration Includes: A spot on a chartered fishing boat, all fishing gear, a fishing license for the day, coffee and breakfast sandwiches upon arrival, beverages on the boat, a complimentary tournament gift, lunch at Barking Crab, and a chance to win the grand prize (prizes announced day of). Any “keepers” that you catch can be filleted for you and packed in a cooler bag to bring home!

Directions
Below are the directions to parking and the dock where all fishing boats will leave from. As you walk to the dock on the morning of the event, you will see other anglers and members of Capital Advisors Group gathering on the dock farthest out in the marina facing the breakwater. There is a small foot bridge to get onto the dock. If any assistance is needed, please contact Stefan Spazek at 617-997-1459.
- Parking: We suggest all anglers park at Fan Pier Garage, 1 Bond Drive, Boston, MA 02210.
- Dock: All fishing boats will depart and return to the dock facing the outside breakwater at Fan Pier Marina, 10 Fan Pier Boulevard, Boston, MA 02110.
FAQ
What to Wear
We recommend that you “dress for the weather” by layering clothing to anticipate a cool morning and possible warmer afternoon, as well as bringing a windbreaker. For shoes, non-marking is preferred, but any comfortable shoes that can get wet will work.
What to Bring
We recommend bringing sunscreen in a tube (NO aerosol sunscreens, as they can turn fiberglass and boat upholstery orange), a hat, sunglasses, any additional snacks you may want, and your mobile phone to take pictures of your catch! There is plenty of dry storage on each boat for backpacks/gear bags.

Bathrooms
All boats have a bathroom (“head”) this year. We’ll provide a bucket for the adventurous anglers.
