Are you considering buying or establishing a commercial paper (CP) program for your portfolio(s)? For many corporate treasury investors, the attractiveness and utility of CP has increased over the years due to the cost-effectiveness, supply, regulatory flexibility, liquidity, and overall short maturity range. These factors, along with potential tax incentives have not only piqued interest in CP, they have as well added to the already complicated cash investment landscape facing corporate treasury investors.
This moderated discussion with panelists from Carnegie Mellon University, Toyota Financial Services and Applied Materials will share their experiences evaluating the CP market and how they, in several cases, implemented a CP program at their organizations. Panelists and the moderator will review the types of firms issuing and purchasing CP and roles of the dealers and investment managers.
Session Takeaways: The session will provide attendees with insights on how to evaluate the CP market, who the issuers and buyers are, and the roles played by the dealers and the investment managers. Examining relatable use cases from panelists organizations, discussions will further answer questions on how to establish a CP program and bring it to market, also the key factors in the program needed to meet their liquidity, safety and yield needs.
Panelists include:
- Brandon Hillstead, Senior Treasury Manager, Autodesk, Inc.
- Ben Campbell, CEO, Capital Advisors Group
- Matthew Frye, CFA, Senior Treasury Analyst, Carnegie Mellon University
- Nicholas Ro, National Manager, Toyota Financial Services
